HACON Case Study
Saving warehouse space and streamlining of production processes
A sheet metal depot occupies at least 50% less storage space
Rapid inspection of the state of materials
Automated storage stands guarantee a shorter time for loading and unloading materials.
The system has several safeguards to protect the operator and other people working in its vicinity
The storage system is comprised of racks with pallets on which metal sheets are stored, a lift moving pallets horizontally and a material receiving and loading station. The spacing of each shelf depends on the type and size of the stored material – the minimal shelf spacing is 180 mm, and the number of shelves can reach 34 pcs. for a single rack.
The automatic rack for sheet metal storage is fitted with a mechanical or “manual” control system. The operator can plan collecting or feeding the relevant material. The contents of each of the pallets is memorized by the system, e.g. type, thickness, and quantity of the material.
